All pool owners know they have to cover it for the winter. But with the weight of leaves, branches, and even small animals that can land on the cover, how do you prevent the cover from sinking in the middle?
Two solutions are available to you: you can purchase a ball that you position in the center of your pool, beneath the cover. It’s not a bad solution, but you might have to buy a new ball every year, as they tend to get damaged by the cold, by ice etc
You can also use the ELASTIC SYSTEM. It’s really simple and easy to use, and will last for many years. All you have to do is place the cable and tensioner around your pool, just below the top of the posts. Then, like a spider web, attach the end of the elastic to the cable at one post, and the other end to the cable of the opposite post, on the other side of the pool. Once that’s done, you’re all set to cover your pool.
You may be thinking: but because its elastic, won’t the weight of the snow bring it down? This is true, but at that point, the remainder of the pool water will have frozen, creating a solid surface for the elastics and cover to rest on.
We recommend a mesh cover because it’s light, and will allow rainwater to seep through while blocking unwanted objects such as leaves and small animals. It also works with a cable and tensioner, and will sit directly on the elastic system
